With THE INHABITANTS – DIE BEWOHNER, Ballet Cottbus leaves the theater and invites the audience to an extraordinary encounter at a location in Cottbus. In this participatory project by internationally acclaimed choreographer Iván Pérez, the ensemble's dancers move through a space, outside in the city, and come into direct contact with the people around them. The boundaries between stage and audience, between art and reality, between strange and familiar are blurred.
How does a place shape the people who inhabit it - and how do people shape their place? THE INHABITANTS – DIE BEWOHNER explores these questions using the means of movement and without fixed choreography, open to the unexpected and always in dialogue with those who watch and encounter them.
If you want, you can be even more than an audience: In the run-up to the project, we invite you to workshops together with the ensemble in which the focus is on encounters, movement and play. Dance experience is not required.
THE INHABITANTS – DIE BEWOHNER is a project for everyone who is curious about a different kind of theater and about their city.
