“DANCE BREAKING FREE”
Life is movement and diversity of world´s views. This diversity and its translation into movement were the focus of the TANZBIENNALE HEIDELEBRG 2023. In this festival’s edition, the choreographers turned complex challenges into the subject of their work. The international program showcased a combination of German premieres, the festival’s own productions, and iconographic pieces from the contemporary dance repertoire, in which each performance was considered a highlight. The Tanzgala Baden-Württemberg, once again emphasised the regional roots of the festival.

The international program included choreographers and companies such as Damaged Goods/Meg Stuart, Maguy Marin, Rocio Molina, Unusual Symptoms/Adrienn Hód, Oona Doherty, Jesús Rubio Gamo, Yadmeen Godder Company, Silvia Gribaudi, Dance Forum Taipei/Marina Mascarell, Chey Jurado, Asun Noales, SHORT HOPE/André Uerba, Dana Caspersen, Renan Martins, Regina Rossi, amongst others.
